Played at the First annual Amateur Psychologist Convention in St. Croix Falls this weekend. Dave and I took the stage around 6 (i love playing outdoors). We kept it nice and tribal for the first 10 minutes or so. Once we decided to drop the kick drum we blew the circuits...

5.5 meditation

My good friend Susie recently did a meditation on 5/5/05 at 5 in the morning.
Here's what she had to say about it...

Hello everyone - it wasn't SO difficult to awaken at 5:05AM this morning! I lit my big pink candle and placed it in front of me. I held an invisible ball with my hands, closed my eyes and started placing people in the golden sphere. I said, "you have been called with love to enter the golden sphere." Then I held them there for a bit. Then I said, "let all who have touched or loved you, or whom you have loved or touched, also enter this sacred sphere." I then watched in amazement as the energy quickly built, working my way through the list of over 200 people.

What I came to understand is that everyone on the face of the earth was included in the healing, many times over, simply by our love and prayers and thoughts. We are all connected in love. By the end of the 55 minutes my hands felt like they were holding a VERY solid ball. I worked my way through holding all Reiki practitioners, healing practitioners, teachers, lawyers, politicians, children, hungry people, people in prisons, and people who are scared. Then I held Earth for a while, then the rest of the Universe.

When I was done, I held my hands over my eyes for a bit, then moved them down to my heart. I could feel an incredible amount of energy. I then saw that we can ALL do that, to help us get grounded and centered and empowered. If you take just a moment to center yourself, then cup your hands and imagine them full of love, then imagine everyone in the Universe contained in that sphere, then use that for healing on yourself - wow!! So, try it if you wish.

This is such a time of transformation - all that is hidden SHALL be revealed (I know that personally in these past few weeks), and it is ALL for our Highest Good. To help us ride the waves, it is good to sit as lightly as possible, and we can do that by breathing, smiling, and surrounding ourselves with people and thoughts that bring us joy.

so much has happened since my last post. im not even going to try. those of you who were there might remember, those of you who weren't can imagine.

played 20 minutes north of madison on sat. woody has officially taken the #1 slot for the coolest guy in the world. not going to go into the story here but trust me, he is.

after that i was lucky enough to get stranded in milwaukee with the abandoned scout campers. Luckily sycamore knew one of the river west pirates. they took us in and totally restored my faith in humanity.

I would like to congratulate all the djs for all their time, efforts, knowledge, money, support...the list goes on and on. This station is run solely by you and you all rock my world.

For the unique approach to human relations and community Radio Free Fargo will be awarded the 2005 Fargo Human Relations Award.

Nominator: Prairie Rose

It is my pleasure to nominate such a new and innovative group for the Fargo Human Relations Award. Their journey started six years ago, and has now blossomed into a vision of progressive community radio station committed to providing a voice to those who often go unheard, or are marginalized. Radio Free Fargo has a mission to engage the listeners in the local community's unique voice while promoting the distribution of public information, as well as providing an outlet for local music exposing a broader knowledge of music culture and ideas.

In 1998 a window of opportunity opened up for a low power (LP) FM frequence license from the FCC. At that time Mark Borchert an engineer for Go radio, and his nephew Casey Borchert a dj, and composer, felt it was time to put their skills and creative energy to work in hopes to offer the community something different: A platform of expression unlike any other on local radio.

Needing a nonprofit status to make a proposal, they approached Margie Bailey and Fargo Theater Management who were ecstatic to be a part of the project. Thrilled to ride the Fargo Theaters coat tails, the Borcherts applied for the license. However, with a new administration heading into the Whitehouse, and the aftermath of 9/11 the FCC put on hold giving out any radio licenses. Colin Powell personally pushed the license process through the proper channels and all proposals were finally looked at. The Borcherts, and the Fargo Theater were in competition with 2 other drafts in the Fargo-Moorhead area; the Alliance for Arts and Humanities/NDSU and a private citizen. As time passed an agreement was made to share the license between the nonprofit and the Alliance/NDSU.

After six years, the license was finally given and KNDS 105.9 FM was on the air. NDSU and Radio Free Fargo, though seperate entities have integrated programming, providing a unique mix of college, and a broader community radio. Radio Free Fargo is unique because the sound is solely volunteer. Volunteers who labor mightily to provide the community's voice. Unlike any other radio station in Fargo their are over 25 individuals donating not only time and money, but their talent to provide musical, and educational programming, exposing the music culture, diverse voices and viewpoints on cultural, political, and religious issues in our community.

Radio Free Fargo's Diverse Programming includes the only Native Radio Show called Wiconi Waste (Weechonee Washtay), meaning the good life which gives the local Native community a platform to discuss local issues, as well as expose the community to Native contributions in music, politics, and world affairs, several other shows including: The Next Step, which provides spiritual discussion, Music Stew which combines music and the love of cooking and recipes, High plains Radio, which discusses the local music scene and local issues, and the United Nations Musical Comedy Hour. Radio Free Fargo intentionally sets time aside for public service announcements, along with several more great shows, and hours of musical programming showcasing many talented citizens of our community.

It started out as a vision of two individuals, but has grown into a group of people under the station now known as Radio Free Fargo. These individuals have shown their dedication and willingness to improve human relations, and community in the F-M area by seeking out partners who are often isolated, without previous radio experience, and provided training to bring the community's voice to a local audience.

Through Radio Free Fargo there is a commitment to Human Relations, broadcasting educational and socially informative programming. Radio Free Fargo is unique because it is 100 % listener funded, and community run. Radio Free Fargo is just the vehicle to provide structure, and the outlet for the voice of Fargo Moorhead.

The Borcherts and Volunteers of Radio Free Fargo have proven strong leadership from waiting six years, to seeking out a diverse group of partners to provide our community with something that is totally theirs. A voice.

I hope that you will consider Radio Free Fargo for the Fargo Human Relations Award. They are an exciting new group that will become a true asset in our community. Thank you for your time.

Sooo, i run solely on my laptop at the ob show last night.
Thank to everyone for coming out. I haven't had that my fun in Fargo in a long time.

The full text of the Zero Gravity Toilet Instructions: ZERO GRAVITY TOILET PASSENGERS ARE ADVISED TO READ INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE 1. The toilet is of the standard zero-gravity type. Depending on requirements, System A and/or System B can be used, details of which are clearly marked in the toilet compartment. When operating System A, depress lever and a plastic dalkron eliminator will be dispensed through the slot immediately underneath. When you have fastened the adhesive lip, attach connection marked by the large "X" outlet hose. Twist the silver coloured ring one inch below the connection point until you feel it lock. 2. The toilet is now ready for use. The Sonovac cleanser is activated by the small switch on the lip. When securing, twist the ring back to its initial-condition, so that the two orange line meet. Disconnect. Place the dalkron eliminator in the vacuum receptacle to the rear. Activate by pressing the blue button. 3. The controls for System B are located on the opposite wall. The red release switch places the uroliminator into position; it can be adjusted manually up or down by pressing the blue manual release button. The opening is self adjusting. To secure after use, press the green button which simultaneously activates the evaporator and returns the uroliminator to its storage position. 4. You may leave the lavatory if the green exit light is on over the door. If the red light is illuminated, one of the lavatory facilities is not properly secured. Press the "Stewardess" call button on the right of the door. She will secure all facilities from her control panel outside. When green exit light goes on you may open the door and leave. Please close the door behind you. 5. To use the Sonoshower, first undress and place all your clothes in the clothes rack. Put on the velcro slippers located in the cabinet immediately below. Enter the shower. On the control panel to your upper right upon entering you will see a "Shower seal" button. Press to activate. A green light will then be illuminated immediately below. On the intensity knob select the desired setting. Now depress the Sonovac activation lever. Bathe normally. 6. The Sonovac will automatically go off after three minutes unless you activate the "Manual off" over-ride switch by flipping it up. When you are ready to leave, press the blue "Shower seal" release button. The door will open and you may leave. Please remove the velcro slippers and place them in their container. 7. If the red light above this panel is on, the toilet is in use. When the green light is illuminated you may enter. However, you must carefully follow all instructions when using the facilities duting coasting (Zero G) flight. Inside there are three facilities: (1) the Sonowasher, (2) the Sonoshower, (3) the toilet. All three are designed to be used under weightless conditions. Please observe the sequence of operations for each individual facility. 8. Two modes for Sonowashing your face and hands are available, the "moist-towel" mode and the "Sonovac" ultrasonic cleaner mode. You may select either mode by moving the appropriate lever to the "Activate" position. If you choose the "moist-towel" mode, depress the indicated yellow button and withdraw item. When you have finished, discard the towel in the vacuum dispenser, holding the indicated lever in the "active" position until the green light goes on...showing that the rollers have passed the towel completely into the dispenser. If you desire an additional towel, press the yellow button and repeat the cycle. 9. If you prefer the "Sonovac" ultrasonic cleaning mode, press the indicated blue button. When the twin panels open, pull forward by rings A & B. For cleaning the hands, use in this position. Set the timer to positions 10, 20, 30 or 40...indicative of the number of seconds required. The knob to the left, just below the blue light, has three settings, low, medium or high. For normal use, the medium setting is suggested. 10. After these settings have been made, you can activate the device by switching to the "ON" position the clearly marked red switch. If during the washing operation, you wish to change the settings, place the "manual off" over-ride switch in the "OFF" position. you may now make the change and repeat the cycle.
